Knit-Rite Sterling® Prosthetic Socks
Quality, Comfort and Durability of the Sterling Prosthetic Sock
The Sterling Prosthetic Sock was first developed in 1921. Since that time, the finest materials and outstanding workmanship have been combined with the most innovative technologies available to produce premier prosthetic socks. Standard features include:
a reinforced toe, a more rounded toe and the absence of large open stitches. All Sterling socks are finished with a color-coded thread at the top hem that enables patients to identify the ply of the sock after repeated laundering.
The 100% wools sock is a blend of high grade domestic virgin wool and Australian virgin wool. The domestic wool provides strength and longevity, while the Australian wool adds softness and elasticity. This combination of wool results in a high degree of fiber contained absorption, a quality not inherent in socks of man-made
fibers. One and two-ply wool socks are 100% high grade Australian Superwash Wool. They are easy to care for since they can be machine washed and dried.
The Sterling Stretch sock plaits Coolmax/Lycra to the inside of this high bulk acrylic sock, allowing it to conform to the shape of the limb better and wick moisture away from the skin. Fleecing on the inside adds softness next to the skin. These socks contour and cushion the limb.
Cotton Socks meet the special needs of some patients. They are absorbent and hold their shape. Shrinkage is minimal. Hot water washable, can be bleached.
