Knit-Rite, Inc. Receives ISO 13485:2003 Certification


KANSAS CITY, KS – September 28, 2012 – Knit-Rite, Inc., a worldwide leader in the Orthotics and Prosthetics, Compression Hosiery and general medical textile industries, recently received ISO 13485:2003 certification for both the company’s manufacturing facilities, located in Kansas City, KS, and Ellerbe, NC. 

ISO 13485:2003 is the established quality standard for manufacturers of medical devices and has been established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is the largest developer and publisher of international standards for the implementation of Quality Management Systems.

Chris Vering, Executive Vice President and COO, stated, “The ISO 13485 certification makes us stronger as a company and continues to build the level of confidence our customers have in Knit-Rite products.  We want to show our customers that we are committed to take our quality standards to the highest level. Our Quality Management System at both our plants is designed to meet the demanding needs of the medical industry, an important factor when our customer partners are considering potential suppliers.”
